Knight in the Sky

Semi-finalist
International Open Poetry Contest (July 2001)

As I began weeping in earnest
Came forthwith into my heart a guest,
A knight who is resplendent and bold
Attired in gleaming silver and gold.

He is drawn to my side by a bond
That no term will be able to bound
Time has no meaning, love will endure
My heart will forever be secure.

A knight no less than a miracle
An experience nothing can settle,
Epitome of women's fancy
Of a knight that's extraordin'ry.

The knight in the sky's enchanting eyes
Rescued my searching heart that cries,
Old mother fate let him fly so high
Love made him the only night in the sky.
